Charmer with good grub right along the main thoroughfare. Enter at the corner, grab a table 11-3, and watch locals shuffle in and out. Popular lunch spot for tourists and locals alike - location, location, location. Excellent Ruben, fair BLT, standard fries and chips for sides, free cookie. They were busy! so our food took awhile - just another sign we were in the right place.
I was craving a good burger while traveling through Balinger, TX. Reviews pointed to The Sandwich Shop, so I stopped in. This place is cute with lots of history. My choice from the menu was the Chili Cheeseburger. It's a bit sloppy, but not disappointing at all! Very satisfying, and the complimentary cookie is a very nice finish. If you have time, this would be a quality stop! Highly recommend. There were plenty of pics of this charming building already, so I'm adding a snapshot of my plate along with images of the menu that also tells the story of this location.
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Will make the drive just to eat there again. Thank you for the excellent lunch!
